Dave Clippert, Sedalia-Pettis County EMA director, presented Lori Shuart with a plaque honoring her selection as the 2012 Sedalia-Pettis County EMA Volunteer of the Year Award on Feb. 7.
“Lori has consistently shown her dedication to the protection of Pettis County. Anytime we have a need Lori is the first to raise her hand day or night. Lori also has been in the right place at the right time in the past couple of years.
“She was the first to spot an EF1Tornado on May 20th, 2010 near the Sedalia High School and again on May 25th, 2011 she spotted the EF2 Tornado that struck Sedalia” said Clippert.
“We are very pleased that we were able to honor Lori in front of her peers last night,” he concluded. Photo submitted.
