Madeline Emma McMullin, 76, of Sedalia, died of a massive stroke on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. Madeline was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Arlington, MA, a daughter of the late Christopher and Dorothy Lester.
Madeline served her community as a Nutrition Education Specialist in Pettis County in association with the University of Missouri Extension Service for 27 years, a career which she loved.
She is survived by her husband Glenn McMullin, of the home; siblings William Mooney of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Dorothy Miller-Paxton, of Lathrop; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Greg and Helen McMullin (Samuel and Natalie McMullin; Trystin McMullin, Gideon and Hannah McMullin) of Charlottesville, Va.; Jeff McMullin (Stacey McMullin and Daniel McMullin) of Wichita, Kan.; Lori and John Thomas of Austin, Texas (Justin Barker; Brooklyn of Jacksonville, Fla., Bryan and Shannon Thomas; Elle and Reece of Denver, Colo., Lindy and Devin Hayes; Lane, Alex, and Kobe of Olathe, Kan., Kelli Thomas and Scott Adam of Overland Park Kan.); and Carla Hertel (Logan and Jenni Hertel; Ember Hertel, Emma Dieckmann, and Lucas Aldrich) of Sedalia; Madeline’s sister, Dorothy Paxton, remains a strong family supporter. Madeline’s grandson, Logan.
Hertel has been a strong supporter of his grandparents for the past 15 years.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Feb. 4, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ted Francis officiating. Interment was in Olive Branch Cemetery.
