To qualify, an agency must be established as a human service tax-exempt organization under the IRS Code Section 501 (c) 3. The allocation packet requests agency information in the areas of: constitution and by-laws, management, financial reports, and statement of nondiscrimination. The agency must additionally meet the funding criteria, financial accountability, community needs, program priorities and effectiveness. Those agencies wishing to be considered for 2014 allocations must return the funding application by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013.
The Sedalia-Pettis County United Way and its partner agencies share two common goals in the allocation process relative to the overall mission: 1) to fund real community needs as fully as possible and 2) to allocate available funds for optimum effect among these needs. Board members listen to presentations and review the applications to learn what the programs can do for people in our county.
Please contact the Sedalia-Pettis County United Way office at (660) 826-2980, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application.
