Sacred Heart named Kaysinger Conference Speech Champions

After combining scores for the two conference tournaments in November and January, the Sacred Heart Gremlins Speech Team have been named Conference Champions for 2012-2013.

In individual results:

Seniors – Nathan Edwards, 6th in Extemporaneous Speaking; Connor Simon, 4th in Extemporaneous Speaking and 2nd in Radio Speaking; Jesse Carroll – 1st in Poetry and 1st in Original Works; Nathan Edwards and Jesse Carroll, 3rd in Improvised Duet Acting; Aaron Church, 6th in Poetry; Aaron Church, 2nd in Humorous; Megan Ortmeyer, 1st in Storytelling; Aaron Church and Megan Ortmeyer, 1st in Improvised Duet Acting

Juniors — Virginia Vanegas – 4th in Radio Speaking, 3rd in Dramatic, and 1st in Humorous

Sophomores — Gabby Hill, 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking and 3rd in Original Oratory

Freshmen — Sarah Myers, 7th in Prose; Darby Simon, 5th in Prose; Juliette Hill, 5th in Dramatic

Other team members competing in this contest were Freshman Ryan Collins and Junior Casey Chappel. Freshman Patrick Brockenborough also competed at the Fall Conference contest.
