S-C wrestlers win one of four duals

The Smith-Cotton wrestling team beat Raytown and lost to Kearney, Belton and Pleasant Hill on Saturday.

S-C beat Raytown 45-24.

Winners for the Tigers were: Tanner Proctor by forfeit at 132; Collin Debow by pin at 145; Noah Aziere by forfeit at 152; Jacob Weeks won by decision at 160; Wade Hagebusch won by pin at 182; Kyler Taber won by pin at 225; there was a double forfeit at 285; Logan Parham won by pin at 113 and Zack Wooldridge won by pin at 126.

The Belton Pirates beat S-C 55-15.

Winners for the Tigers were: Weeks won by decision at 160; Barry Rivera won by forfeit at 170; and at 106, Kyle Perez won by a pin.

Kearney, coached by former S-C head coach Chad Hopkins, walloped the Tigers 76-6.

The lone Tiger winner was: Perez won by pin at 106. Kearney won the match with 11 pin victories, one major decision and two forfeits.

The Pleasant Hill Roosters beat S-C 52-22.

Winners for the Tigers were: Trevor Slivkov won by pin at 195; Perez won by forfeit at 106; Parham won by a major decision at 113 and Luke Archibeque pinned his opponent at 120 pounds.
