Helen M. Sanders, 97, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the Living Center in Marshall.
She was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Viroqua, Wisc., a daughter of Joseph Virgil and Beth Guist Buchanan. On Dec. 25, 1932, in Sedalia, she married Walter Lee Sanders, who preceded her in death in 1973.
Sanders worked for Montgomery Ward for several years. She had a lifetime certificate from Washington D.C. for volunteering at the Senior Center.
She is survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and a sister, Daisy Ballew, of Marshfield.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Jean Patterson and Wanda Lee Riggings; six brothers, Joseph, Arvil, Gerry, Charles, John and Thomas (in infancy) Buchanan; and two sisters, Merl Jones and Ilene Miller.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
