Frances L. Sims, 80, of Sedalia, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at her home. She was born in Tahlequah, Okla., Aug. 15, 1932 , the daughter of Francis and Lura (Lee) Jarvis. Frances and S.T. “Ted” Sims were married on June 27, 1949. S.T. preceded Frances in death on Sept. 27, 2011.
She graduated from Cassville High School in Cassville. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her friends and family were a very important part of her life. She was active in all aspects of her family’s lives. She attended many events her children and grandchildren were involved in.
Frances and S.T. moved to Sedalia in 1953. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the Ladies Shrine Club for many years. She worked for Fitzwilliam Motors, Town and Country Shoes and Adco Manufacturing, where she retired. She was an avid golfer, quilter and flower gardener. In earlier years, she enjoyed golfing with S.T. and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Dolores Brown and her husband, Phil, Brenda Michael and her husband, Bill; 3 grandchildren, Lisa Ditzfeld and her husband, Sam, Kevin Sisemore and his wife, Tiffany and Scott Sisemore and his wife, Annie; six great grandchildren, Lincoln and Kenndi Ditzfeld and Noah, Conner, Oliver and Grey Sisemore.
In addition to S.T., Frances was preceded in death by two grandsons, Eric Brown and Christopher Sisemore.
As per her request her body was cremated. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Frances’ family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bothwell Hospice or the Canon Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
