S-C Lady Tigers lose three dual meets

The Smith-Cotton Lady Tiger swim team lost three dual meets in a quad meets Jan. 3 at the Joseph W. Arbisi Memorial Swimming Pool at the Sedalia Middle School.

S-C lost 206-72 to Belton, lost 151-69 to Marsha and 160-70 to Warrensburg.

Belton beat all three opponents to win the meet.

Brittany Borke, Ali Burkholder, Wendsday Thompson and Rachel Howieson finished fifth in the 200 medley relay for S-C. Abby Monsees finished second in the 200 free. Burkholder finished third in the 200 IM. Borke finished 10th in the 50 free.

Burkholder recorded the first event win for S-C this season, winning the 100 butterfly in 1:14.47. Thompson followed up with a win in the 100 free in 1:06.05, while Borke took ninth, Howieson 11th and Gracie Turner 14th.Monsees took fourth in the 500 free. Thompson, Burkholder, Mariah Voitl and Monsees finished fourth in the 200 free relay. Voitl took eighth in the 100 backstroke. Howieson was ninth in the 100 breaststroke.

Voitl, Howieson, Monsees and Turner took third in the 400 free relay.
