Jeanne Ann Mosier, 84, of Sedalia, died on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1928 in Sedalia daughter of Alfred F. and Dessie S. Baker Rowlette. On May 28, 1950 in Sedalia she was married to Wilbur Lee Mosier and he survives of the home. She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1946. She worked for Town & Country Shoe Factory from 1946 until 1955 leaving to raise her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at 4th & Osage in Sedalia for 61 years. She was instrumental in establishing the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association. She enjoyed working with crafts, painting, flowers in her yard and she was also an avid bowler. She loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter; Cristy L. Poppinga and her husband John of Sedalia, one son; Mark S. Mosier and his wife Paula of Overland Park, Kan., two sisters; Helen Cecil and her husband Gerald of Columbia, Gayle Thomas of Sedalia, three garndchildren; Rebecca Kolsky, Emma Mosier and Ian Mosier. She was preceded by her parents and one sister Gloria Rowlette.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at First United Methodist Church at Fourth & Osage with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Cecil, Gerry Cecil, Cliff McBride, Earl Manuel, Larry Claycomb and Martin White. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
