JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Karissa A. Logan, the assessor-elect of Pettis County, to serve the remainder of the term of Assessor Dean Dohrman. Dohrman has resigned from the position after being elected to the Missouri House of Representatives.
Logan, of Sedalia, currently serves as the deputy assessor. She was elected as assessor in November, a position in Missouri where the terms of office begin the following September. Because of the vacancy, the Governor has appointed Logan to serve until her full term begins.
Logan, a Republican, began serving as deputy assessor in January 2012. Prior to that, she was a mapper/GIS specialist for Pettis County, responsible for all land records in the county. Logan also teaches various real estate courses as an adjunct professor at State Fair Community College.
“This appointment will ensure a smooth transition in serving the people of Pettis County through the assessor’s office,” Gov. Nixon said.
