Billie Erwin Neth, 74, of rural Mora, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his home. He was born on Aug. 3, 1938, on a farm near Winston, Mo., a son of Erwin and Jennie (Patrick) Neth.
He attended elementary school at Winston. As a child, his family moved to the Sedalia area, where he attended Postel School north of Sedalia. Bill worked as a farm hand and later unloaded turkeys for Swift. He then went into the construction business. In 1960, he became an iron worker and was a faithful member of Iron Workers Local # 10 until his retirement in 1993. On Sept. 30, 1960, in Sedalia, he was married to Donna Allen.
On July 14, 1972, in Miami, Okla., he was married to Faye Young and together they raised six children — Tony, Peggy, Steven, Larry, Patrick and Michael.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Sedalia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the garden, but most of all he loved his grandchildren and the time they spent together laughing, joking, and being ornery. He was a kind hearted man that would do anything for anyone and expect nothing in return and will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Neth of the home; one daughter, Peggy Hagen and her husband David of Cole Camp; five sons, Tony Neth and his wife Colleen of Sedalia, Steven Neth and Judy of Lincoln, Larry Pyle and his wife Myrna of Tonganoxie, KS, Patrick Neth and Dawn of Mora, and Michael Neth and Lisa of Mora; two sisters, Helen Rice and her husband David of Silas and Sharon Cramer and her husband Jerry of Sedalia; two brothers, Dale Neth and his wife Carol and Bernie Neth and his wife Diane, all of Sedalia; 14 grandchildren, Brandy, Jackie, Tara Jo, Aaron, Winter, Jonathan, Timothy, Gavin, Tristin, Ayden, Anthony, Brandon, Andrew, and Mathew; and eight great-grandchildren, Landon, Kaden, Madison, Anneliese, Matthias, Macy, Summer, and Dakota.
