Smithton sixth graders chose to collect money for an adopted family in lieu of having a gift exchange in the classroom this year.

They raised $167.25, which went to purchase groceries for Christmas meals, according to Myra Tuggle, elementary counselor with the Smithton School District.  Submitted photo.
