The Sedalia-Pettis County United Way has reached 89 percent of their campaign goal, according to this year’s Campaign Chair, Deidre Esquivel. The campaign has raised $510,290.63 to date.

The goal for the 2012-2013 campaign is $575,000. “The United Way campaign will remain open until Dec. 31. With an economy that is showing promise – but very slowly – donations are down just as we are seeing increased needs in our community so we still need your support,” said Linda Kirk, United Way Executive Director.

“With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I would encourage folks not to forget about the United Way. Your financial gift will help make sure the vital programs of our partner agencies continue to meet the needs of children, families, and seniors living right here in this community,” said Ms Esquivel.

The 25 agencies served by the United Way are seeing an increase in requests for services. All money raised for United Way is distributed to local programs through an entirely volunteer-driven review process. All funding decisions are made by people in our community – our neighbors.
