Maurine Maxwell, 91, of Windsor, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born May 24, 1921, in Ionia, Mo., the daughter of Willie Riecke and Ivy May (Willis) Riecke. On Feb. 14, 1942, in Windsor, she married Buel Maxwell and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2000.
Mrs. Maxwell was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm before moving to town in 1998. Maurine lived her life to the fullest and she enjoyed quilting and playing bingo. She was a member of the El Dorado Methodist Church, rural Windsor and attended the Assembly of God Church, Windsor.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Maxwell (Carol), Windsor, Mo.; four daughters, Patricia Nations (Jr.), Cole Camp, Mo.; Gloria Fosnow (Bill), Windsor, Mo.; Sandra Maxwell (Jack Cannon), Green Ridge; Karen Nolting (Jeff), Linn, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Riecke, Young Harris, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Maxwell; four sisters, Eileen Edgar; Marjorie Davis (her twin sister); Naomi Buchanan; Velma Buchanan and a brother, Willis Riecke.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor with Rev. Gene Ekstrand officiating and Rev. Murlin Anstine assisting. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m., before the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Assembly of God Church or the Laurel Oak Cemetery and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
