Allene Frances Kreisel-Stover, 75, of Green Ridge, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at her home, Green Ridge. She was born on Sept. 24, 1937, on a farm south of Lincoln, a daughter of Clayton and Bernice (Craig) Gardner.
She lived in the Edmonson and Manila areas until her marriage. On Nov. 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert Kreisel in Kansas City, Mo. They traveled to several different places as Robert found construction work. In 1963, they purchased 15 acres one mile east of Green Ridge, where they built their home in 1968 and where Allene lived until her death.
She was a member of the Green Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder for 35 years. She was a homemaker and after her husband Robert passed away, she found her niche in life by doing something she enjoyed, cleaning houses for local people. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 491 of Green Ridge.
On Dec. 20, 1996, in Green Ridge, she was married to Jerome D. Stover, who survives of the home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and going to auctions and garage sales.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome D. Stover of the home; four sons, Johnnie Lee Kreisel and his wife Desiree of Green Ridge, Ron (Doc) Kreisel and his wife Vickie of Calhoun, Ricky Kreisel and his wife Debbie of Centertown, Randy Kreisel and his wife Kelly of Versailles; two sisters-in-law, Vera Gardner of Kansas City and Carol Gardner of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren, William Robert Kreisel, Pamela Potter, Scott Calhoun, Heather Hollinger, Clayton Kreisel, Joe Kreisel, Jill DeHaven, Amber Ellis, Donnie Eveler, Mark Eveler, Jeffery Kreisel, Kimberly Kreisel, Elizabeth Kreisel, and James Kreisel; and 15 great-grandchildren, Madison Allene, Laura May, Johnathan Robert, Jasmine, Angeleyes, Elana, Chase, Faith, Gracie, Zoe, Sierra, Kendall, T. J., Ty and Gavin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Bernice Gardner, her first husband, Robert Kreisel, one sister, Wanda Wood, and two brothers, Cletis (Bud) Gardner and George Gardner.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 at Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp. Burial will be in Union-Williams Cemetery, rural Cole Camp.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Union-Williams Cemetery or Green Ridge Presbyterian Church in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
