On the biggest shopping day of the year, Dukes and Boots owner Dale Malone made it his mission to provide shoppers with a respite from their bargain-hunting– and an opportunity to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri.

Amidst the retail madness of Black Friday, Malone offered a lunch of a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for just $2 with all proceeds benefiting the Club. That night, all cover charges collected at the door were also tabbed to benefit the Boys & Girls Club. Additionally, Malone went above and beyond his original commitment by offering a free lunch to Dukes and Boots patrons on Saturday, Nov. 24, donating $2 to the Club for each lunch.

“It is difficult to think of someone with a bigger heart than Dale,” said Club Executive Director Brett Barth-Fagan. “He’s been a strong supporter of the Club for many years now, and his kindness truly knows no bounds.”

Purely out of his own generosity, Malone approached the Club with the idea for the event. “The Club has a near and dear place in my heart,” said Malone. “I attended the Boys Club when I was a kid here in Sedalia, so I know first hand how important its mission is. I’m proud to help support the Club in any way I can.”

The total amount of Malone’s donation is still being tallied.
