Donnis Durrill

Donnis A. Durrill, 78, of Sedalia, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at her home.

She was born on Dec. 26, 1933, in Dade County, Mo., a daughter of Jesse and Beatrice (Lemaster) Kitsmiller.

On Sept. 22, 1957, in Cedar County, Mo., she was united in marriage to Elvis Durrill, who survives of the home.

She was a loving mother and grandmother with a special love for children. Donnis was a childcare provider for over 50 years and worked for a short time at Children’s Therapy Center and Buena Vista Home. She loved to quilt, crochet, embroidering and sew. She also enjoyed oil painting and Toll painting. She was saved and baptized at Sons Creek, Dade County, with the Arcola Baptist Church in March of 1947 and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Michael Wayne Durrill of Green Ridge and Malinda Kay Nevils (Jim) of Knob Noster; three sisters, Carolyn Guiltner (Frank) of Battlefield, Kathryn Terrell (Jerry) of Higginsville, and Martha Griffin of Raytown; three brothers, Donald Kitsmiller (Margarette) of Nevada, MO, Bobby Kitsmiller of Arcola, and Joe Kitsmiller of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Nevils, Jesse Nevils, David Nevils, Timothy Nevils, Sarah Nevils, Erin (Neil Lewis) Durrill and Gerald Durrill; one great grandson, Cash Lewis and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Thaddaus Kitsmiller.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17  at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Duane Duchesne officiating.

Pallbearers will be Matthew, Jesse, David and Timothy Nevils, Gerald Durrill and Neil Lewis.

Honorary bearers will be Rachel and Sarah Nevils and Erin Durrill.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.

The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to New Hope Baptist Church or The Cannon Cancer Center in care of the funeral chapel.
