Helen Lucille Rogers Trcka, 91, died on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at The Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg, Mo.
She was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Otterville, Cooper County, Mo., a daughter of Thomas Elijah and Anna Marie Dorothea Roehrs Rogers. She was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Otterville on May 29, 1921.
She was raised and educated in the Otterville area. She attended Otterville High School and was in the graduating class of 1938.
After her education, she spent her working career first in Jefferson City and then for many years in St. Louis, serving as an executive secretary for several companies.
On May 18, 1963, she was united in marriage to Richard Arthur Trcka, at The Lutheran Church of the Ascension in St. Louis. After their marriage, Helen and Richard lived in Darien, Ill., until 1984, when they moved to Bella Vista, Ark. Following her husband’s death, she moved to The Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Arthur Trcka; her parents, Thomas Elijah and Anna Marie Roehrs; two brothers, Herman Thomas Rogers and Herbert Francis Rogers; and a sister, Mildred Marie Rogers Sutton.
Surviving are her nephew, Don Rogers, of Lee’s Summit; her step-son, Glenn Earl Trcka, and his wife, Carroll Lynn, of Elm Hurst, Ill.; sister-in-law, Laverne Armiger, of Winfield, Ill.; and step-grandchildren, Laura Trcka, Michelle Trcka, and Christopher Trcka.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m., at Heckart Funeral Home, Sedalia; followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Country Club Care Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.
