Lois Wingerter, 79, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Luke Goosen, Aaron Twenter, Alex Carr, Mardy Hostetler, Brian Randall and Welda DeRousse. Honorary pallbearers will be Angela Hostetler, Stephanie Randall, Jessica Wingerter, Natalie Wingerter, Jennifer Wingerter, Megan Wingerter, Trisha Goosen, Kristen Twenter and Anne Goosen. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Tuesday, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Church, in care of the funeral chapel.
She was born Jan. 26, 1933 in Modoc, Ill., a daughter of the late Daniel E. (Pearl) Brown and Gladys B. (Clyde) Miller. On September 25, 1954 in Prairie du Rocher, Ill., she was married to Robert C. Wingerter, who preceded her in death on July 1, 2005.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Wingerter (Jileen) and Joseph Wingerter (Lisa), both of Sedalia, and David Wingerter (Jeanie), of Springfield; two daughters, Susan Goosen (Jerome), of Cole Camp and Amy Carr (Tim), of Sedalia; one sister, Thelma Romay, of Red Bud, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dwain Brown, “Pete” DuClos and James DuClos.
Mrs. Wingerter was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved the time she spent with her family, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
