Each year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri recognizes one person for their outstanding service to the community. The Pink Flamingo Award has become synonymous with a kind, giving and loving heart.

At the 2012 “An Evening of Heart & Hope” fund-raising auction, Dianne Simon of the Thompson Hills Investment Group was named as the winner of the Pink Flamingo Award, and will be recognized Monday, Oct. 29 at the Thompson Hills Investment Groups offices, located at 906 Thompson Blvd., in Sedalia.

“Dianne is well known around Sedalia and Cole Camp for her huge heart and support of both communities,” said Attorney Adam Fischer. “As valuable as she is to us here at Thompson Hills, what she means to these communities is so far beyond that. We’re so happy to be associated with her and to count her as a friend and colleague. ”

On Oct. 29, the Club will work with Thompson Hills to honor Simon, by thanking her for all she’s done for the community, beginning at 9:30 a.m. “Through her community involvement, Dianne has touched the lives of so many of our members,” says Club Executive Director Brett Barth-Fagan. “We’re excited to thank her in a way that shows what she means to our community. Dianne’s had a huge impact, and she deserves public recognition.”

The support Dianne and the Thompson Hills family have given to the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is crucial to its continued operation. The Club will honor Dianne with a proclamation at the “flocking” Monday morning.
