The program was presented by Mitzi Linsenbardt, whose mother was one of the 150,000 children brought from the East Coast to Jefferson City for adoption in a period from 1875 to 1925. Of the children on the Orphan Train, she noted, 6,000 came to Missouri.
Andrea Eppenauer, president of the group, called the meeting to order. Betsy Wiley, chaplain, read the devotional, Bonnie Diefendorf, secretary, called the roll and read the minutes, and Marsha Metzner, treasurer, gave the financial report, reminding all that dues are to be paid by November.
It was announced that the chapter had received the “6 Pearl Award” this year. Discussion then followed concerning a rummage sale and participation in other altruistic projects, as well as the next Community Cafe date.
The group’s next meeting will be Oct. 22 at Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church.
