On Oct. 6, 2012, Terrance “Terry” Raymond Kiesel, 68, of Sedalia, died at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, after a long illness.
He was born Oct. 19, 1943, in Fort Branch, Ind., a son of Edwin and Lillian (Georges) Kiesel. He was united in marriage to Sharon Youngberg on Sept. 10, 1966, in Garnett, Kansas. He was a 1961 graduate of Fort Branch High School and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He was a field engineer at Unisys (Burroughs) for 27 years and a machinist at Alcan Cable for eight years. He was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church, as well as a member of the State Fair Lions Club and Jaycees.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his mother, Lillian Kiesel, of Greenwood, IN; three children, Laura Kiesel, of Springfield, Mo., Michael Kiesel and wife, Nan, of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew Kiesel, of Springfield; three brothers and their spouses, Steve and Diane Kiesel, of Sumpter, SC, Harvey and Sue Kiesel, of Dayton, Ohio, and Brad and Debbie Kiesel, of Greenwood, Ind., along with many other family members and friends.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at Sacred Heart Church with Father James Betzen, C.PP.S. officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry’s nieces and nephews. Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 9:30 am at the church with visitation to follow until service time. Burial will be Friday, Oct. 12 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
