State Fair Community College has taken the first steps toward finding its next president.

President Dr. Marsha Drennon plans to retire June 30, 2013, after serving as president for the last 10 years.

A search committee has been established to assist with the selection of the next president. SFCC Board of Trustees President Gary Noland and member Ron Wineinger will serve as committee co-chairs.

Other members include SFCC employees Cara Barth-Fagan, Early Childhood Education instructor; Jack Hayes, chemistry instructor; John McMahon, director of SFCC-Lake of the Ozarks; John Matthews, director of Financial Aid and Veterans Services; Patty Morrison, coordinator of Maintenance Operations; and Garry Sorrell, vice president for Finance and Administration; SFCC Foundation Vice President Mary Treuner; and Sedalia Fire Chief Mike Ditzfeld.

Ex-officio members are Linda Church, director of Human Resources, and Dana Kelchner, director of Marketing and Communications.

The Board has reviewed a presidential profile developed in collaboration with the Human Resources office. The profile will be used as the basis for advertising the position and selecting the next president. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 15.

“A successful search process requires effective communication,” said Noland. “To provide access to key information, a Web page has been developed specifically for the presidential search. The public is encouraged to visit to view the presidential profile, timeline, status updates, application process, and other information.”
