The Sedalia Youth Football League was in action today, Sept. 29 on the fields next to Smith-Cotton High School. The Sedalia Chiefs played the Marshall Owls for a 24-0 loss. The much younger Sedalia Steelers played the Sedalia Raiders on another field. Event organizer Jimmy Brown said that up to 38 teams (and their coaches and parents) travel from all over west-central Missouri to play on Saturday mornings at multiple fields here in Sedalia. Players’ ages range from Kindergarten through seventh grade. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
