The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control conducted a sexual abuse investigation upon the request of Benton County Prosecuting Attorney Karen Woodley and Benton County Sheriff Rick Fajen. Following a two-week investigation, Michael S. Cash, 47, of Cole Camp, Mo., was arrested and formally charged in Benton County, with the following offenses:

Statutory sodomy first degree (Class A felony) — two counts

Child molestation first degree (Class A felony) — one count

This investigation is ongoing. Due to the general scope of the investigation, the Patrol is requesting assistance identifying additional victims who might have had contact with this individual. Anyone with information related to this investigation can contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A Headquarters (816) 622-0800, ext. 3165.

Cash was transported to the Saline County Jail where he is being held on $100,000 bond. The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
