KCP&L rate hike discussed at public hearing

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission held a local public hearing in Sedalia on Sept. 6 in electric rate cases filed by Kansas City Power & Light Company and KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company.

September 6—Sedalia. City Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 200 South Osage Avenue. A PSC staff public information/question and answer session started at 6 p.m. with the taking of sworn testimony following.

On February 27, 2012, KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company filed a rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $58.3 million (10.9%) in the MPS area and by $25.2 million (14.6%) in the L&P area. KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company provides electric service to approximately 309,200 customers in Missouri.

Also on February 27, 2012, Kansas City Power & Light Company filed a rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $105.7 million (15.1%). Kansas City Power & Light Company provides electric service to approximately 270,000 customers in Missouri.
