Juvenile office awarded two grants

The 18th Judicial Circuit, Pettis County, Missouri Juvenile Office was recently notified they were awarded two grants with a combined dollar amount of $22,000.

The Honorable Judge Robert L. Koffman, Presiding Circuit Court Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit, consisting of both Pettis and Cooper Counties, received notification from the Supreme Court of Missouri – Office of State Courts Administrator of the funding.

“The Pettis County Juvenile Office is continuing to seek grant funding to continue providing specialized services to the children within our circuit.” said chief juvenile officer Mike Hughes.

“Deputy Juvenile Officer Tim Carr was tasked with the responsibility of completing the grant applications and corresponding documentation.” said Hughes. “DJO Carr was charged with this responsibility, in addition to his other case management and supervision tasks.”

The Supervision Not Detention Program has now received approximately $50,000 over the past year and one half in funding from the State. The innovative program was designed in response to the closing of the Pettis County Juvenile Detention Center on January 1st of this year.
