Geraldine Carrico of Ionia is a quality inspector at a Sedalia manufacturing plant, and she knows a good thing when she sees it. She followed her hunch about a Missouri Lottery “Cash Ka-Pow” Scratchers ticket and ended up winning a $20,000 top prize.
Carrico, 65, bought the winning ticket at Rush Hour 9, 1320 S. Limit in Sedalia, on June 15. She took the windfall in stride, recalling that she texted her kids and enjoyed a celebratory dinner at Sonic following the win. She plans to share some of her winnings with her children, upgrade her vehicle and bank the rest for retirement.
She added that she would keep looking for another big winning ticket.
“Cash Ka-Pow” is a $2 game that officially began April 21. Carrico claimed the sixth top prize of seven in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game at Molottery.com.
