Freddy’s franchise group M&M Custard opened their second mid-Missouri location today at 3171 W. Broadway in Sedalia.
“We are extremely excited to open in Sedalia,” commented franchise partner Eric Cole. “The community is an ideal town for a concept like Freddy’s. Sedalia is all about Americana and hometown pride. We are excited to bring our cooked-to-order steakburgers and freshly-churned custard to Sedalia and the surrounding communities.”
The Sedalia location brings the nationwide count for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers to 65. The free-standing location in front of the Thompson Hills Shopping Center includes a drive-thru facility and both indoor and outdoor seating. A friends and family welcome event was hosted by General Manager Kim Jones and her team on Monday following three days of in-store training.
“The Sedalia team is excited to welcome the community into our new store,” Kim said. “We have plenty of outside seating to accommodate the commuting lake traffic stopping in Sedalia for some great tasting steakburgers, Chicago hot dogs, chicken tenders, Freddy’s shoe-string fries and frozen custard that is made fresh throughout the day.”
Co-founded by Scott Redler and Bill, Randy and Freddy Simon, Freddy’s opened its first location on west 21st Street in Wichita during 2002, offering a unique combination of cooked-to-order steakburgers, Chicago dogs and other savory items along with its signature desserts prepared with premium frozen custard made fresh throughout the day in each store.
Freddy’s founders operate six locations in the Wichita Metro area and two in the Kansas City market. Fifty-seven franchise units serve other areas of Kansas and Oklahoma as well as Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.
Freddy’s has been listed as the Fifth Fastest Growing Chain Restaurant in the United States and Canada by Chain Store Guide, a sister publication to Nation’s Restaurant News. Most recently, Freddy’s was recognized by Technomics as the 5th fastest growing burger concept in the country. In the local community of the company’s founding, Freddy’s is a recipient of the 2011 Best in Business Award from the Wichita Business Journal.
