Lawrence W. ‘Larry’ Smith

Lawrence W. “Larry” Smith, 76, of Windsor, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Toni Sammons, Tom Wassan, Terry Wassan, Sam Wassan, Michael Anderson and Paul Thomas. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral chapel.

Born April 11, 1936 in Hughesville, he was the son of the late William T. and Ora L. Skinner Smith. On May 10, 1994 in Windsor, he was married to Mildred Marie Taylor, who survives of the home. He is also survived by 10 step-children; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan Smith, of Sedalia and Robert Smith, of Washington State; and a sister, Mary Greenberg, of Blue Ridge. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Smith; and two sisters, Lillian Moore and Rose Stephens.

Mr. Smith was raised and educated in Hughesville. He worked at Town and Country Shoe Factory for a number of years. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church near Lincoln. He enjoyed woodworking.
