Horace Mann Elementary School will celeb
rate its 100th birthday on May 4 involving former students and staff starting at 5:30 p.m. with a dedication ceremony of the new playground.
At 6 p.m. there will be student performances in the gym in addition to a cookout and carnival games. The party will have an historic theme and the games will reflect various eras in US history.
The party will continue on Saturday, May 5 with a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at Appplebee’s on West 50 in Sedalia. Following the breakfast, the school will be open for tours, reminiscing and admiring student projects from 10 a.m. to noon. Mr. Todd Fraley is the principal of Horace Mann.
Tickets to the pancake breakfast will be available at the school prior to the event or at the door at Applebee’s.
