Charles F. Wooster, Jr., 80, of Sedalia, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp, Mo.
He was born on April 18, 1931 in Denver, Colorado son of Charles F. and Lorena Mabry Wooster. He was married on Dec. 15, 1956 in Sedalia to Doris E. Eckles and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2008.
He was a construction worker for the Laborers International Union 663 for 50 years before retiring. He enjoyed sports, watching and going to car races especially NASCAR.
He is survived by four sons: Darrell J. Longie and wife Terri of Raytown, Missouri, Rick B. Longie and wife Danae of Nashville, Tenn., Charles R. Wooster and wife Rebecca of Houstonia, Rock A. Wooster and wife Crystal of Eads, TN, one brother; Billy Wooster of Independence, Missouri, one sister, Beverly Bottom of Sedalia, Missouri, two step- brothers, nineteen grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, one granddaughter, two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Sid Mabry officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be; Shane Longie, Wayne Stevens, Kurt Henderson, William Cordes, Robert McFarland, Cary Longie, Zack Abriola and Alex Abriola.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Shonna Lund, Cortney Longie, Megan Wooster, Jessica Wooster, Melissa Cordes, Robin Henslee, Bridgette Mullins and Melissa McCollom.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday, April 12 at the funeral home.
