Judith Carolyn (Grimes) Hiltenburg, 71, died April 3, 2012, at her home near Sedalia.
She was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Sedalia, to Ivan Grimes and Fannie Belle (Perkins), who preceded her in death.
She grew up on a farm near Beaman and attended Smithton School and graduated in 1958 from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia.
On June 7, 1959, she married Robert L. Hiltenburg. They made their home in Illinois for many years where they raised their family. They returned to this area some years ago.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; a daughter, Julie (Allan) Smith and a son, Greg Hiltenburg, both of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren: Andrew, Madelyn, Tyler, Jackson and Dashlyn Belle Smith; a sister, Janice (Wayne) VanNatta, of Olathe, Kan.; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Ross and Diana Martinez. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Prater.
She was a lifelong homemaker, member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Smith-Cotton Alumni Foundation. She was a loving, giving person and will be missed.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Adams officiating.
Casket bearers will be John Meehan, Stan Taylor, Don Plowman, Kim Graves, Don Simpson and Alan Simpson.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Down Syndrome Foundation.
