Irene Katherine Eickhoff, 94, of Cole Camp, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born on Oct. 16, 1917, at Lincoln, Missouri, a daughter of Herman Henry and Emma Magdalena (Schwettmann) Rotermund.
On Feb. 1, 1942, at the home of the her parents in Lincoln, she was united in marriage to Earl Carl Eickhoff, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1980.
Irene was baptized on Oct. 28, 1917, and confirmed on April 13, 1930, at Zion Lutheran Church at Lincoln. In 1934, she graduated from Lincoln High School and attended teacher’s college at Warrensburg. After moving to Cole Camp, she transferred her membership to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeannette VonHolten and her husband Milton, and Jean (Wanda) Healan and her husband Randy, all of Cole Camp; two sisters, Flora Rotermund of Lincoln and Ruth Wurdeman of Raytown;
five grandchildren, Carlene Frenzel and her husband Craig, Bryan VonHolten and his wife Nancy, Judith Pritzel, Kristen Moellmann and her husband Nick, and Angela Kammeyer and her husband James; and nine great-grandchildren, Kailey Frenzel, Kenda Frenzel, Jared Frenzel, Matthew VonHolten, Taylor Sullivan, Emily Pritzel, Alex Pritzel, Reyna Kammeyer, and Adam Kammeyer.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Emma Rotermund, and one brother, Reinhardt Rotermund.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, with Pastor Jody Rice officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, rural Cole Camp.
