Jennie F. Wheatley, formerly of Sedalia, died Friday, March 30, 2012 in Windsor. She was born November 3, 1917 in Pilot Grove, Mo., the daughter of Snode and Barbara (Parks) Thompson. On Jan. 13, 1936 Jennie and Joseph V. Wheatley were married. Joseph preceded Jennie in death on April 19, 1978.
She graduated from school in Pettis County and she enjoyed her life sharing time with her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, and she was a great cook and enjoyed crocheting.
She was baptised in the East Broadway Christian Church and attended the Smithton Christian Church for many years. She and Joseph were square dancers and they spent a lot of their free time dancing.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Brown of Windsor; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Roy Wheatley; her son-in-law, David Brown; her daughter-in-law, Allene Wheatley; her granddaughter, Carol Ede; and a sister and a brother.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m., Monday, April 2 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Florence Cemetery in Florence, Mo.
