Polina Ivanovna Shvets, 81, of Sedalia, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at University Hospital, Columbia. She was born on June 13, 1930, in Vinnitsa, Ukraine, a daughter of Ivan and Natalya Ivachshuk.
In January of 1954, she was united in marriage to Philip Shvets, who preceded her in death on December 10, 1980.
She is survived by three children, Lidia Klimenko of Vinnitsa, Ukraine, Galyna Dubenchuk, of Vinnitsa, Ukraine and Svetlana Osadchuk of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Elena, Natalya, Igor and Philip; one sister, Mariya Lyubar of Vancoover, Wash., and one brother Yakor Ivachshuk of Moscow, Russia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a family visitation and prayer service from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Rea Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
