Patricia June Garrett, 82, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home.
She was born May 30, 1929, in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of the late Oliver S. and Lillian Blanche (Pearce) Davis. On April 18, 1948, in Sedalia, she married William L. Garrett, who died Feb. 16, 2008.
She moved to Sedalia as a young person and was a 1946 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She worked a few years for the telephone company and then became a homemaker and a mother. She later went to work at Central Missouri Electric Cooperative, retiring in 1991. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church. She was active in PTA at Washington School, and served as president. She was a volunteer for the Bothwell Auxiliary. She enjoyed handwork, especially cross stitch.
She is survived by a daughter, Vicki L. Stuart, and her husband, Paul, of Roseville, Calif.; two grandchildren, Kyle Stuart, and his wife, Amy, of Roseville, Calif., and Holly Exler, and her husband, Steve, of Oak Park, Calif.; a nephew, Dennis Henderson, and his wife, Barbara; a great-niece, Ashley Henderson, all of Sedalia; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Ethan.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 30, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Dave Clippert, Scott Balke, Ray Kocsis, Kyle Stuart, Steve Exler and Dennis Henderson. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Child Safe or Bothwell Hospice in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
