Bruce Campbell

William Bruce Campbell, 59, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his home. He was born on May 29, 1952, in Centralia, Ill., a son of William and Charlene (Richards) Campbell.

On Dec. 17, 1971 in Centralia, Ill., he was married to Anita Ruth Berry, who survives of the home.

He was a 1970 graduate of Centralia High School and a 1973 graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He received a Master of Divinity, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1977. He was minister of New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia for 26 years. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. His passion was to teach God’s word and lead people to Christ.

Besides his father and wife, he is survived by four children, Andrew Campbell and his wife Alicia of Springfield, Mo, Rachel Robb and her husband Devin of Sedalia, Tiera Beard of Sedalia and Ali Campbell of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Peyton Robb, Hunter Robb, Selah Robb, Maelin Robb, Paishense Beard, Asher William Campbell and Kierra Campbell.

He was predeceased by his mother.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24 at New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia.

Friends are invited to a meal and reception at the church, following the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to New Hope Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
