Lesia Lynn Smith, 38, of Green Ridge, died Thursday, March 15, 2012.
She was born Aug. 28, 1973 in Carrollton, a daughter of Edward Saltsgaver and Sharon Purdy.
She was a former EMT, police officer, firefighter and DARE officer. She worked as an LPN at Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton. She was dedicated to her family, friends and known for her hard work ethic.
On June 26, 2005, in Knob Noster, she was united in marriage to Anthony Wayne Smith.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Sharon Jane Purdy of Green Ridge and her stepfather, John William Purdy of Green Ridge; her father, Edward Lee Saltsgaver and his wife Joyce of Smithton; two daughters, Haley Elizabeth Bleck and DeLanae Marcilla Smith, both of Green Ridge; two sisters, Kerry Ann Branchcomb and her husband Rick of Story City, IA and Libby Sue Lorenz and her husband John of Sedalia; one brother, Bruce Lee Saltsgaver and his wife Barbara of Cole Camp; nephews and nieces, Delwyn Rosebrough, Jacob Saltsgaver, Keirsten Lorenz, Keegan Lorenz, Korbin Lorenz, Justin Saltsgaver, Landon Branchcomb, Tyler Saltsgaver and Elizabeth Saltsgaver; and expecting granddaughter on the way, Abigayle Sue-Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Orville and Clara Saltsgaver and maternal grandparents, Archie and Martha Newman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Pastor Donnie Hayworth officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to Smith’s Children Fund in care of the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Loveless, Jim Dir, Tony Dudley, Rob Hutson, Stormy Walker and Rick Brandt.
