Spelling Bee winners beat 14 other teams

The winners of the 2012 Corporate Spelling Bee to benefit Melita Child Development Center at State Fair Community College attracted 15 teams and their fervent supporters to the Thompson Center Thursday night, March 15.

Each team had three members. The winners after nearly an hour, 45 minutes of competition were Team 2, the “Inter-State Wanna Bees,” sponsored by Inter-State studio, and comprised of John White, Rita White and Linda Ellis.

Second place went to Team 6, the “PEO Chap Bee Bees,” comprised of Fema Zahringer, Mo Hurley-Callis and Linda Carroll, sponsored by SMC Electric.

Third place was secured by Team 8, “The Fortune Spellers” comprised of Wendy Schmolzi, Samantha Marshall and Danielle Fischer, sponsored by Landmann Title/Nursing Students, year 2, Semester 2. The team also won the best-dressed award.
