Lela May (Granny) England, 68, Sweet Springs, died Wednesday, March 7, at Sweet Springs Villa.

She was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Kansas City, daughter of of Lawrence and Lelia Sapp Hall. On July 14, 1962, she was married to Richard England, who survives of the home.

Mrs. England had lived in the Hughesville and Sweet Springs areas for the last several years and had worked as a waitress at several local restaurants in Pettis and Saline counties. She was also a homemaker.

Also surviving are two daughters, Becky Lea, Houstonia; Teresa Benson, Sweet Springs; three sisters, Blanche Davis, Omaha, Neb.; Mary Keesis and Donna Hall Aldaz, both of Shenandoah, Iowa; two brothers, Wayne Hall, Edwardsville, Kan.; Gary Hall, Clarina, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Genevieve England, Marshall; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Harold Dean Hall, Bennie Hall and Jimmy Hall.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Campbell-Lewis Chapel, Marshall.

Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, north of Marshall.

Memorial contributions were suggested to the Preferred Hospice of Sweet Springs Villa.
