Allison Tester & Brody Kempton were the Judges Choice winners at the State Fair Community College Foundation’s “Emerald Evening” at SFCC Saturday night, while Melinda Moore & David Albrecht were declared the winners for being the couple (out of five) who generated the most money ($4,650) for the Foundation.

Other dancing couples competing at the Emerald Evening were Krista Lowe and John Dawes, Lisa Ditzfeld and David Henderson, and Joe Gilgour and Sarah Grupe.

A grand total of just over $80,000 was raised for the SFCC Foundation at the event. Proceeds will help fund student scholarships and programs. Last year’s benefit raised more than $60,000.

Master of ceremonies was Jim Shoemaker. Dance judges were former “Sedalia Stars” dancers.  Choreographers for this year’s event included Jennifer Renfrow,  Amy Boorsma, Tracy Shelly, Maggie Hartman and Leigh Chaves from Center Stage Academy. Janet Proctor performed auctioneer duties during the live auction of donated items on stage. This is the fourth such event at SFCC. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
