W-K Chevrolet, located at 3310 W. Broadway, has been a car buying staple in Sedalia and the surrounding communities since opening in Cole Camp in 1919.
W-K opened their Sedalia location in December 1999, and they have been striving to give their customers quality, friendly service since day one.
W-K Chevrolet has been a family owned business since the beginning, and they make sure to treat their customers like a part of the family.
This past July, W-K Chevrolet began a large undertaking when they decided to do a massive remodel on nearly every aspect of their business.
“The purpose of all this was to better serve our customers,” Owner Ken Weymuth said.
Several of the ways that W-K Chevrolet is trying to convey that sentiment to the customers is a much-improved waiting room for their customers.
The new waiting room area is now resplendent with comfortable leather chairs, flat screen televisions, wi-fi, several vending machines, and climate control.
The News-Journal had a chance to sit down with Ken and Kyle Weymuth, to discuss all of the new changes to W-K Chevrolet.
Ken was asked if this was the first time, since moving to Sedalia, that they have done a remodel on this scale.
“We have remodeled numerous times and in 2003 we added eight service bays. At the same time we moved the body shop to its current location on Thompson Blvd.
“A couple of years ago we moved our clean-up facility to its current location.
The Weymuths were asked what were some of the new changes to their facilities.
“Pretty much everything from the service department forward was completely reconfigured. Parts were relocated from the back to the Northeast corner of the shop.
“It makes it easier, because retail customers can come in right off the street,” Ken said.
He added, “Everything from the bathrooms, waiting room, to the offices and showroom, we have redone.
“In service we added five new lifts for our quick lube to better accommodate our quick lube customers.”
Kyle Weymuth added, “About the same time as everything else, we put in the automatic car wash. Any service customer gets a free car wash.”
Another improvement to W-K Chevrolet is the remodel of the service drive.
The service drive is climate controlled and with the addition of automatic glass garage doors, customers can pull right on in.
“They can walk in and it will be a constant 70 degrees right inside the door. It’s all about comfort and convenience,” Kyle Weymuth said.
Kyle was asked if the remodeling has been completed.
“There are still a few minor things going on,” he said.
Those minor changes will be done very shortly at no inconvenience to the customer.
Ken Weymuth was asked if W-K Chevrolet is running any specials in conjunction with the remodel.
“It is Truck Month for General Motors, so there are tremendous incentives, on not only trucks, but all of GM products,” Ken said.
W-K Chevrolet has a huge assortment of vehicles to meet the customers’ needs. They have 451 vehicles either on the lot or in transport to their facility.

The W-K sales department is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
They are also open on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The service department at W-K is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
