Hazel M. Hieronymus, age 91, of Sedalia, died on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center. She was born on August 13, 1920 in Sedalia daughter of James (Van) and Winnie Swope Ramey.
She was married on September 10, 1938 in Sedalia to James E Hieronymus, Sr. and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2002. She attended Bothwell School north of Sedalia. She lived in Pettis County all of her life. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a caregiver, she worked at Lamy Mgf. Co and Berry’s Hatchery. She enjoyed doing ceramics, embrodering, upholstering furniture and cooking. She belonged to the Jolly Elders.
She is survived by one son; James E. Hieronymus, Jr. of Sedalia, two sisters; Edna Ramey of Sedalia, Bernice Phillips of Sedalia, two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded by one sister; Rosella Mehrens, three brothers; J.L.(Chub) Ramey, Robert F. Ramey, Don Ramey.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 9 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Marlin Brown officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews; Larry Ramey, Robbie Ramey, Richard Ramey, Bob Ramey, Donnie Ramey, James Mehrens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
