Western Commissioner Larry Wilson and Presiding Commissioner John Meehan signed a proclamation Tuesday morning to observe ‘Thank a Farmer Week,’ which is Feb. 5 – 11.
Stats show that one farmer produces enough food and fiber for 154 people in the US and abroad, and less than two percent of the US population is directly involved in food production. Farmer Roger Cordes, president of the Pettis County Farm Bureau, urged everyone to take time to think about where their food and fiber come from.
