Mildred Emma Heimsoth, 89, of Cole Camp, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at her home. She was born on March 28, 1922, northwest of Cole Camp, a daughter of Andrew and Bertha (Kaiser) Borchers.
Mildred was baptized on April 2, 1922 and confirmed on May 24, 1936, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of rural Cole Camp by Rev. John T. Roschke. On Aug. 23, 1942, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of rural Cole Camp, she was married to Oscar A. Heimsoth, who preceded her in death on July 7, 1993.
She spent most of her adult life on the family farm. In 2001, she moved to her present home in town. She loved her Lord and enjoyed serving her church and community. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Cole Camp and was active in the LWML, the German Club and the Senior Center. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, weaving rugs, quilting, playing cards, and using her gift of hospitality.
She is survived by four daughters, Melba Keele of St. Peter’s, Carole Puckett of St. Charles, Linda White and her husband Ronald of Olive Branch, Miss., and Lynette Schulz and her husband Mark of Eau Claire, Wis.; three sons, Orlyn Heimsoth and his wife Diane of Concordia, Wayne Heimsoth and his wife Debbie of Concordia, and Jeffrey Heimsoth and his wife Nancy of St. John’s, Minn.; two sisters, Olga Borchers and Elaine Miesner and her husband Glenn, all of Cole Camp; 19 grandchildren, Terri, Tony, Fred, Michael, Noelle, Vince, Corey, Andrew, Heather, Bill, Josh, Ross, Tim, Allison, Phil, David, Jeremy, Erika, and Emily; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Bertha Borchers, and two brothers, Marvin Borchers and Ervin Borchers.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, with Pastor Todd Kollbaum officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cole Camp.
Pallbearers will be Tony Keele, Fred Keele, Michael Keele, Vince Puckett, Corey Puckett, Andrew Heimsoth, Bill White, Tim Schulz, Phil Schulz, David Schulz, Jeremy Heimsoth, Joshua Heimsoth and Ross Heimsoth.
The family suggested memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Concordia Seminary, or Cole Camp Senior Center in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
