Nolan (Bill) W. Dorrance, 72, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp. He was born on April 24, 1939, in North Kansas City, Mo, a son of Dr. Nolan and Wilma (Ozenbaugh) Dorrance.
On April 29, 1970, he was married to Linda Waterfield, who survives of the home.
He enjoyed playing golf and was on the Elks Sega golf team. He was a member of the Dresden Methodist Church, Granite Lodge #272 AF & AM and the Ararat Shrine Club. He was a former member of Sedalia Elks Lodge BPOE #125 and Moose Lodge #1494. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Crystal Meyer of Cole Camp; two grandchildren, Sara Eugenia Meyer and Joseph Harris Meyer and one great grandchild, Kylie Lynn Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 at Dresden Cemetery with Pastor Ed Broyles officiating.
Following graveside service, a celebration of his life will be held at the Moose Lodge #1494, Sedalia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to Good Samaritan Care Center, Wings of Mercy, or charity of donors choice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
