John Radu III, 64, of Sedalia, died Monday, May 30, 2011, at his home. He was born on Aug. 31, 1946, in Independence, Kan., son of John and Dessie (Eidson) Radu.
On March 17, 1973, in Kansas City, he was united in marriage to Pamela Edwards, who survives of the home.
John graduated from UCM with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. He loved working on Apple computers. He enjoyed being at his lake house, spending time with family and spoiling his grandkids. John loved making people laugh and always had a new joke to share. He worked at Interstate Studios and Iland. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #236 AF&AM. John served honorably in the US Air Force fighting for his country in Vietnam.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by daughters, Jennifer Davis and her husband Jeremy of Butler, MO and Christina Radu of Warrensburg; a son, Patrick Radu and his wife Brianna of Warrensburg; a sister, Terry Tremaine of Bedford, Texas; five grandchildren, Kaden, Trey, Adriana, Trenton and Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Monday, June 6, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ken Tatkenhorst officiating. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, June 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the family in care of the chapel.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Radu, Jeremy Davis, Brian Tate, Kaden Radu, Doug Edwards, and Jason Edwards.
Honorary bearers will be Joel Webber and Blake Tremaine.
