Lorena Wilcox, 76, of Sedalia, died on Monday, May 9, 2011. She was born Feb. 15, 1935, the daughter of John L. and Ruth M. (Shafer) Randall.
Lorena and Vernon P. Wilcox were married on April 25, 1959. Vernon preceded Lorena in death on July 7, 2006.
She worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator and frame technician until her retirement. She was actively involved with Meals on Wheels, and was a past president. Lorena was also an active member of the SWB Pioneers.
She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and enjoyed numerous trips to Branson and Wisconsin. She also cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, and refused to miss any of their activities.
She was a very loving and devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was very giving of herself and her time. She also enjoyed any chance she had to play dominos, cards or chatting with her “Sisters”.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Wilcox and his wife, Lynn of Eau
Claire, WI and Donna Ramey and her husband, Don of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Paul Ramey, Tim Ramey, Jessica Ramey and Jalynn Wilcox; two brothers; three sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her husband, Lorena was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13 at Ewing- Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Paul Ramey, Tun Ramey, Steve Bruno, Eldon McClain, Glen Lee and Kenneth Lumpe. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Lorena’s family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels in care of the funeral home.
