Margaret Ward and her team have been awarded the State Farm es Para Mí grant through State Farm Insurance Companies. The grant has allowed them to purchase and supply thirty bi-lingual bags to local schools and churches valued at over $3,000. These bags contain bilingual books, safety learning, a bilingual picture dictionary, bilingual flash cards, games, and other learning material. This project is designed to help improve the learning ability for young Latinos, grades kindergarten through fifth grade.

The State Farm es Para Mí™ (State Farm is For Me) program reaches to the Latino communities through information and materials centered on education, civic engagement, and an appreciation for culture. We are excited to help the young members of our community and their families learn our native language, says Agent Ward. We believe that this innovative opportunity will assist the young students and their families in improving their English skills and bringing their confidence level up while speaking English. –Submitted
